Are You Doubting?

And the Lord said to Moses, “Has the Lord ’s arm been shortened? Now you shall see whether what I say will happen to you or not.” (Numbers 11:23 NKJV)

Moses doubted how The Lord was going to provide meat for the children of Israel in the wilderness. He began to consider the situation through his own limited understanding. He tried to figure out how something like that could even be done. And as he thought about it, it seemed impossible. It is rather astounding to think that Moses doubted, for he had already seen so many miraculous things. The Red Sea had parted. Water had been provided in the wilderness, and the list of Gods faithful miracles went on. Yet like us, there were times when Moses questioned The Lord.
It's good to know that the Lords arm is not shortened. It's an encouragement to our faith to be reminded that God can do anything. I want to see what The Lord can do, and not limit His work in and through my life.

Prayer: Lord forgive when I forget how powerful You are. When I begin to look at situations through my limited understanding. Thank You for remaining faithful even when I am faithless. Have Your way and do Your work. Amen

Not a cloud in the sky

At the command of the Lord they remained encamped, and at the command of the Lord they journeyed; they kept the charge of the Lord, at the command of the Lord by the hand of Moses. (Numbers 9:23 NKJV)

The Lord had provided a way for His people to know when it was time to move on from their campsite in the wilderness. The Lord dwelt above the tabernacle in the form of a cloud. When the cloud moved, that is when the people would move. If the cloud remained they would stay. They would stay for a few months, few days, or even a few years. Their location and direction was decided by The Lord.
Have you ever wished that The Lord would lead you in that way? That His direction for your life would be as clear as a cloud moving through the sky? Although today The Lord doesn't lead us with a cloud He does lead us with His Word and by His Spirit. The nation of Israel had to keep their eyes upward to know when The Lord was moving them on. We need to keep our eyes on Jesus in order that we can be directed day by day.

Prayer : Lord help us to keep our eyes upon You so that we would be able to follow Your leading. Our lives belong to You, lead us Good Shepherd and we will follow.

CCSJC Updates

Ministry: Now that summer has ended we all get back into the routine leading into fall. For many of us kids go back to school, homework, carpooling, etc, becomes a part of our daily lives. At Calvary we also have some things that are on the horizon.

Mens Study: We have our Iron Man Study that is beginning Tuesday Night September 24th. This year we are going through the book of Ephesians. Its going to be an exciting time of growth. This study provides a great opportunity to get connected to other brothers in the church. Its a time to encourage one another in our walk with the Lord.

Women's Study: The Women's study is beginning once again on Friday mornings and Monday evenings. This year the ladies are going through the book of 1 Corinthians. I have looked at their study and it is going to be a true blessing.

Final Beach Baptism: Our final Beach Baptism of the year will be Sunday September 22 at Doheny State Beach at 4:30pm.

Community Outreach: We have our final Church in the Park event on Sunday September 29th at the Historic Town Center Park in downtown San Juan Capistrano. We combine all four weekend services into one outreach. We have music, a presentation of the gospel, a chance for people to come forward and receive Christ. All of this is followed by a BBQ and concert. It provides a great chance for everyone to come together as one.

Mens Retreat: October 11th-13th at Green Valley Lake. The Theme of this years retreat is "RETURN" taken from the book of Hosea.

Harvest Festival: Coming on October 31st join us as we take back the night of Halloween, with a Harvest festival held on the ball field right behind the church. We are going to be canvasing the schools and neighborhoods for this free event. We will have all kinds of activities from rock climbing wall, bounce houses, obstacle courses and games for the whole family. And throughout the evening we will be preaching the gospel and handing out tracks with all the candy.

Helicopter Unit: Our church has adopted a Marine Helicopter Unit. We have been invited to deploy with them locally for three days. During that time we will be serving all the food. WE also will be showing the film Courageous to the troops. And Sunday morning we will be having a church service for any who want to attend. Amazing opportunity.

CCSJC App: Also I am really excited to announce we have a brand new church app available on the apple store. This is a great resource that can reach anyone anywhere who has a smart phone. It is free and can be downloaded at the app store by simply typing in CCSJC.

Expansion: Please keep us in prayer as we are continually seek the Lord for direction, and open doors for expansion. WE have outgrown our present location and are asking the Lord to make a way where there seems to be no way.
