How Mountains Are Removed

Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain; and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it-
Zechariah 4:7

There were so many challenges that Zerubbabel faced in rebuilding the temple. Everywhere he turned there was opposition. His enemies discouraged him in the building. The people were discouraged because the foundation looked so small compared to the former temple. At one point they quit building all together. It seemed like a pointless task with nothing to show for their effort. They basically gave up. Then the Lord raised up prophets to rally the people to get back to the work. Yet when the people looked at the task before them it seemed as impossible as moving a mountain. But the Lord said that the mountain that stood before them would be reduced to a plain. The Lord would level the roadblocks. The work of rebuilding would be done through the power of God's Spirit.
Any mountains standing in your way today? Is there anything you are facing presently that is so huge you think it cannot be done, and you don't know where to begin? Look to the Lord, walk by faith, and observe His power as the mountains are leveled by the power of his Spirit.
